Oh dear, oh dear, it’s that time of year again! The holidays come, Christmas has come and gone, and what is there to look forward to! The summer holidays I think, but they seem so near.
Anyway, I must confess that at the moment even the thought of a holiday fills me with disgust, because after my excessive pleasure during the holidays, the last thing I want to do, even more, eats and drink.
So if there’s nothing to look forward to now, what on earth can we do to lift ourselves out of the blues at this time of year!

Here’s a thought for you, start now and get fit. I suggest you not only feel much better after a few weeks but even look forward to that summer vacation. Let me give you an even more serious and compelling reason for this, and that is that we all have to take our long-term health much more seriously than we do now.
At least that’s my humble opinion.
For example, did you know that current statistics show that 75% of Americans are overweight and 40% obese? That’s only in the US, and I’m willing to take an educated guess that the rest of the developed world isn’t far behind.

From the Atkins diet to the South Beach diet, from low-fat to low-carb diets, there are countless weight loss plans to choose from. Also, given the contradictory information about what works best, it can be difficult to decide what to do.
For those who have tried many diet plans without success, it becomes more difficult and frustrating. Many people forget that a diet can do wonders for their friend, but will not work well for them. This is not necessarily because the diet is “bad”, but because everybody reacts differently.
However, there is a way to lose weight that is easy and fast and does not involve hardship or calorie counting.
It’s important to give some background information on body genetics and why weight loss can be difficult before I start discussing weight loss tips.
At the beginning of any diet, it is important to note that each person has a different physique. Some people are small and sturdy, while others are tall and thin. Some have large hips and shoulders, others are short and very muscular. Genetics can determine a person’s body shape and a natural build, just like eye color, hair color, skin color, and so on.
The good news is that genetics doesn’t determine whether a person will be fat or not, but it does determine a person’s body shape.
This means that not every woman can expect to be tall and thin like a Hollywood actress or supermodel like Tyra Banks. Not every man can expect to be defined and muscular like The Rock. In my opinion, the goal is really to have a comfortable weight for someone’s body shape and to feel good about it.
That said, why are overweight people! I have listed ten of the most common reasons below:
1. Slow metabolism
Overweight people find it difficult to ‘burn off’ their food intake. The result is that fat is stored in the body and not used.
2. Emotional eating
Those who struggle with weight often eat when they are stressed or when other emotional changes take place in their lives.
3. Hormonal imbalances
This is especially true for the ladies (complex creatures that we are!).
4. Eating portions
We can all be guilty of the syndrome I like to call ‘greed not needed’. So beware of those portion sizes.
5. An accumulation of toxins in the body
This can be due to too much junk food, sweets, sodas, too much coffee, these can all contribute to this.
6. Eating late
Eating late at night can make food much easier to convert into fat and make it harder to sleep.
7. High sensitivity to growth hormones
These are the hormones given to animals to help them grow faster and bigger. Some meat and dairy products may contain some residual growth hormones. These hormones can sometimes lead to increased fat storage.
8. Not eating breakfast
This makes your metabolism slow and sluggish.
9. Numerous diets
Going from diet to a new diet hurts your metabolism and makes losing weight much more difficult.

Here are seven simple steps for easy weight loss
Now that there is a better understanding of body genetics and why people tend to be overweight, here are my tips for quick and easy weight loss:
1: Drink some water first thing in the morning.
Ideally, drink eight grams of distilled water, bottled water, or filtered water (no tap water).
2: Eat a big breakfast.
Recommended foods to choose from are apples, bananas, rye bread without sugar, yogurt, tuna, tomatoes, carrots, peppers, raw honey, and the like.
3: Drink distilled water all day long:
I recommend you drink at least eight glasses a day.
4: Walk non-stop for an hour every day.
This doesn’t have to be power walking, just walk at your own pace. Walking is one of the best forms of exercise you know!
5: Try to stop eating after 18:00.
This is very difficult for many people but does your best. You will be amazed at how much you benefit from this.
6: Do a Candida cleanse.
Candida is an overgrowth of yeast in the colon that can cause all kinds of health problems. Look online for “Candida Cleanse” or go to your local health food store.
7: Perform a colon cleanse:
This cleanses the digestive system, which is clogged and slow in many overweight people. Check again online or visit your local health food store.
More and more people around the world are becoming overweight. Extra weight can cause many health problems and hurt your emotional state and self-esteem. But for those who are struggling with this problem, there is hope, because you can lose it and keep it off if you want to.
